Ivan (John) Premerl, 89, of Longueuil, Quebec, passed away peacefully, at the Pierre Boucher hospital on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023.
Born on September 27th, 1934, in Kukujevci, Croatia, he was the son of the late Frank Premerl and Mary Heith and late sister, Magdalena Stillinger.
He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 68 years, Olive Margaret McAssey.
Cherished father to his 3 children, Lynda, Frank (Mimi Velghe) and Kathy (Donald Crisp).
He was referred to as Dedo to his 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Philippe, Thomas and Makayla and to his 7 great-grandchildren, Tahallie, Lira, Aria, Oakka, Remy, Dustin and Arkaydia.
His family was his great passion. He also loved dancing, travelling, camping and was a great skier and soccer player. John was known for his abundant, flourishing garden and he enjoyed playing the card game Skip boo and bowling with friends.
His smile and laugh could fill a room and he was a kind, gentle and generous man to all who knew him.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 29th from 2:30pm to 5:00pm EST

A service in the chapel will be held from 5 to 6pm EST and will be streamed on the internet followed by a reception from 6:00pm to 8:00pm EST.
John will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will be forever fondly remembered in our hearts and minds.
